ABOUT US

Mark grew up in Western Michigan and attended Calvin University. A couple of years later he received his MA in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh and worked as a therapist for 10 years. Mark became a second-career pastor at age 35 after obtaining his Master of Divinity at Calvin Seminary. Since then he has pastored 3 churches in Michigan and Colorado. He currently is the pastor at a church in Boulder, CO. He loves both preaching and the relational aspects of pastoring - walking with people through challenges and participating with them in life’s journey, whether hardship or celebration. Outside of work you will find Mark riding his mountain bike, hiking, cutting wood at the cabin, making a 1000-piece puzzle, enjoying a pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and spending time with friends and family.

Deone grew up in South Dakota and attended Calvin University. Since then, she received her master’s degree in higher education and has worked in various teaching and administrative roles in higher education. She currently works for Bethany of Colorado. As Director of Engagement & Outreach, Deone enjoys connecting churches and community partners to the mission of supporting vulnerable kids in the foster care system. Outside of work, you will find Deone volunteering at church, taking photos, enjoying a good cup of coffee, reading, hiking and spending time with friends and family.

Deone and Mark loved raising their 3 daughters and treasure time with them and their 2 sons-in-law. (and now Grandpa and Grandma!). Together they are partners in neighboring, hosting people in their home, enjoying the outdoors, going on tandem bike rides and road trip adventures. They love being married and are passionate about encouraging others towards a healthy marriage and balanced ministry lifestyle.
